Holiday advent photo/ image challenge

I want to post each and every day until christmas. But since Holland is dipped in Sinterklaas fever until the 5th of december it will be a December holiday fest.

For today: Sinterklaas as he is in my mind:

Gimme gimme gimme!

ACK! That crown! It would look so much better on me!

Was watching the in production trailer for the second season for Game of Thrones yesterday. Video didn't impress. Two things lingered though:

1. WHAT?!?!?! April? You are kidding right? I cant wait that long... will be reading them books I guess...
2. The crown Rob Starck was wearing in this teeny weeny short shot:

Clickyclicky on piccie to see it move!

Need to have it, must wear something like this, with my hair loose. Looking like a Starck princess :) Okay, Rob can keep this Stag version, I will have my own branch like version.

Happily knitting away..

I'm happy to knit! Today I got to work on the stranded color work part of the sweater I'm working on and I am thoroughly enjoying it! Who would have guessed?!

Me, totally scare apeshit for colorwork of any kind. And firmly believing I do not have the patience to work on a big project. . .

And now I'm happily knitting away on this yoked sweater and falling in love with stranded color work! I actually like the way the back of the work looks! Okay, okay it is fiddely now, but isn't it like all things? You will get better trough practice? Let's practice away then!

Hardnekkige mist aka Thick fog

There has been for thick fog for a week now. I love it, it makes the world look extra magical.
Today someone really nice took me to the woods for a walk in the fog and while we were there dusk was setting in. It was wonderful and I felt extra special walking in that magical landscape of greens and browns and reds and oranges. Any minute something from a fairytale could turn the corner and walk past us, or someone from another era. My mind went to stories long forgotten...

Trolls and kabouters, good witches and some bad ones. Good Fairies, but I do remember a lot of the fairies being something you had to watch out for as a kid. Not to be trusted those fae.. my dad used to say.

Leaves thick as a carpet and droplets falling on us from the trees. Mushrooms sticking out everywhere, and pretty things to look at in abundance. Looking up through trees that have lost half of their leaves, the sky shimmering above, but not really there because of the fog.

The drive home took us trough a blanket of fog and all the lights had halo's . And since people are starting to put up the holiday lights (5th of december is Sinterklaas here in Holland, lights go up early to make sure he can find our homes) the world looked like something one can only dream of. . .

Like a cocoon I could huddle up in and be in my very own dreamworld, inviting people to stay for a while, have some tea and a hug.  X

One thing

Okay, I've been slipping...
The world is turning dark again due to wintertime and my mood has turned over to the dark side with it. And, damn, I don't want to end up at the bottom of that pit again, so lets stop this slipnslide right here and now!

Me taking control of my life, doing what is right for me, not what is right for others..

For today: a song that makes me smile each an every time I hear it!

And Sinterklaas is in town! Yay for Sinterklaas :) It is his birthday on the 5th of december you know?
